Small blind opening range

The small blind has already posted 0.5bb. If it folds to you, one player remains: the big blind. You will act first on every later street. That is why this study chart opens less than the button, about 27.3% of combinations, even though only one player is left.

The shape

All pairs open. All suited aces open. Suited broadways and suited connectors such as 98s, 87s, 76s and 65s open. Offsuit, the chart keeps the strong broadways and stops around A8o and T9o. It does not keep the offsuit hands the button still opens, such as K7o, Q8o and 98o. K2s and 54s, which the button raises, fold from the small blind.

How to use it
