Hijack and cutoff opening ranges
HJ acts after UTG. CO acts after HJ, one seat off the button. Both still open or fold on this chart. Nobody has raised yet. The difference is how many players remain behind you.
Hijack, about 23.4%
The hijack keeps everything UTG opens and adds the rest of the pairs, 22, 33 and 44. Every suited ace opens, including A2s. Suited one-gappers such as K9s, Q9s and J9s come in, plus the connectors T8s, 98s and 87s. Offsuit, the new hands are A9o, KTo, QJo, QTo and JTo. A8o and K9o still fold.
Cutoff, about 36.7%
The cutoff adds suited kings down through K5s, more suited connectors down through 65s, and the offsuit aces from A8o to A2o. K9o, Q9o, J9o and T9o open. The worst offsuit junk, and the weakest suited kings such as K2s, still fold. Those wait for the button.
